Finnish people are not only known for their designs, their people are equally know for their great sense of style. I'm starting to think it is in their DNA to be aesthetically creative in all sense, from design to dressing.

Ranna has always been one of my favorite bloggers and definitely one of those in my style icon list. And even though she closed her english blog, her Finnish one is equally stylish (as always). Though the google reader does quite a shitty job with translating Finnish to English, the photo diary of her day to day outfits are enough for me to feast on. I just love the way she layer the pearl necklaces to create a classic, old style look on a modern outfit or how beautifully she wears the 50s look.

One Dress - 365days

Okay, I know I haven't been updating this blog for weeks. It's depressing cause my powerbook has officially died and the other available PC/Laptop at home works on a 192RAM or less. So hence the lack of updates. In fact I haven't even been reading any of my favourite blogs. It's just extremely frustrating since I'm free 24/7 to surf the net.

Anyway, I came across this via the swirl girls blog, an extremely interesting fashion concept with a cause. Conceptualize by Sheela Matheiken, The Uniform Project is to wear a custom designed dress by her friend, Eliza Starbuck for 365 days, adding layers and accessories to reinvent the look each day. How cool is that? And funds raised will go to the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroot movement that is revolutionizing education in India. You can contribute by donating cash to the project or accessories to assist in styling.

The looks created are definitely inspiring and you'd never had thought that they are the same dress. Started in May 2009 and 10 more months to go, I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeves with styling! She's definitely going straight into my google reader for fashion inspiration.

style icons: A Pop of Colors

Unlike many out there, I have not managed to define my 'personal style', I take bits and pieces of things/styles/whatever I like and fuse them together. On most days, I play it safe and on some occasion, I try new trends and looks. And most of the time, the go-to colors are black, whites and all that's in between. And so when I discovered this new blogger on the block, it was a breeze of fresh air - fashion wise.

 

The discovery of Keiko Lynn has gotten me all hyped up, she brings colors to life, make winter feels like summer and bring out the fun we should have with colors. And what I love so much about her blog entries? She not only is a fantastic dresser, she does the most impeccable make up too. With close-ups and detailed info, it has become an awesome place to go for make-up tips.

Is she back?

Stylebytes.net is back online, does that mean Agatha will be blogging again anytime soon? Well, i'm archiving every inspiring photo of her before it disappears on me again. I need inspiration for lazy days.

She's one legendary fashion blogger with a great sense of style. 

style icons: Separated at birth?

Don't they look like twin sisters separated at birth or long lost sisters? Both extremely kooky and quirky with impeccable style. They are officially my girl crushes of the moment!

Zooey Deschanel looks like a modern day snow white. In love with all things old (movies, music and vintage clothes) this young sweet thing has an old glamour charm that infuses into her personal style. She is an obvious trendsetter than a follower. Her quirky fashion sense never fail to make a statement and stand out from the crowd. She's cute and quirky, what's not to love!

Katy Perry on the other hand looks like a real live betty boop (only cuter and sexier!). Everything about her may seem vintage and pin-up-eques but this kooky singer is not afraid to experiment when it comes to fashion. There is always something whimsical about her outfit, from sequin banana to strawberry barrettes, she's definitely one stylish figure to watch.

where are you?

i know this post has been long overdue and many bloggers have already covered the issue. But, WHERE ARE YOU AGATHE! I can't help but to miss her impeccable style, her ever so lovely pet pig, molvin, and her fantastic husband's photographs of her. Every now and then, i'd still try my luck and visit style bytes in hope of seeing it up and running again, with new outfit images, and her latest finds. Unfortunately it is still down. Like everyone else, i really wonder what had happened after her trip, and i sincerely hope she's fine.
